Welcome to My Blog!

My name is Tina and I am the owner and creator of Candelaio. This is my very first blog - look at me! I have no idea what I am doing, but let's give it a go.

To give you a little background about myself, I grew up in MA on the South Shore with my parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. My father always said, work hard, play hard. He lived that way all growing up and showed me what real hard work was and still does. He was/is a contractor and at 79 he is still tinkering and has a variety of little jobs to keep him busy. (I can patch a wall and paint it so you could never tell there was a hole.) My mother was always in the yard weeding, planting flowers, making the yard beautiful and providing a nice warm meal for us every night. When I was in High School she went to nursing school and became an RN. Good work ethic is in my genes. We lived about a mile from my paternal grandparents who I loved dearly. We have a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins. Yes, we are Italian...spoiler alert!

I married my childhood sweetheart 31 years ago and we have 4 daughters and 1 son. About 6 1/2 years ago we moved to Western MA, just a few short minutes from Sturbridge, and we LOVE it! We live a mile from an apple orchard and there are farms everywhere. A little slice of heaven. We have 1 granddaughter and another grandbaby due the 1st of the year! There is just nothing like it. We are obsessed.

I love what I do. I love making new candles and sprays that smell amazing. My greatest moments are when someone picks up and smells a candle and they just melt into the aroma with a huge grin. It's the best feeling. My plan for my blog will be to inform and encourage. I love sharing good news and being a bright light. I will talk about new product launches, family memories and events, new store alerts, places I will be like pop-up shops or festivals and encouraging stories that need to be shared or supported.
