In 2020, I launched my candle company due to my love for candles and smelling the warm aroma that always made my day better.  I lit the candle and BOOM, mood lifted.  I got thinking...because I love candles so much and how happy they make me, why not make a business doing what I love?!  So I began to research candlemaking.  I tested and tested, and tested some more until I had the right wax with the right wick in the right container.  A nice smelling, clean burn is what I wanted from my candles...it was important to me as a candle lover.  I ended up selecting a natural soy blend wax with a cotton wick for the perfect burn and hot throw scent.

Behind the names: 

When I was growing up, my nana made the best lemon cupcakes and italian cookies.  It was so much more than them tasting incredible ... the way she topped each cupcake with confectioners sugar and arranged her tray of cookies.  It was the kindness, gentleness and love that was poured into each batch.  It was one of her ways to show love.  My papa would make fresh salad out of his garden and store herbs, peppers and tomatoes in his cold storage room.  He was a gentle soul that I remember drinking wine out of a juice glass and smelling like his pipe that sat like a trophy on the mantle.  I love my Italian heritage and knew I wanted to be different than all the other candle makers out there.  So, with that in mind, I decided to make my line more Italian themed taking bits and pieces of my life memories to create Candelaio.  So many of these memories are behind each product name and I have so much fun matching up the fragrance to the memory to finish the candle with the perfect label. Each brings a smile to my face and warms my heart.  My decision to use mason and jelly jars was purely in remembrance of my grandfather caning produce from his garden.  I wanted my candles to have the look and feel of something he would have done himself.  I am happy with the result.

 

Since our inception, I have added wax melts, room sprays and car/travel sprays to the line and will continue to increase our merchandise.  Since day one, my genuine love and passion for quality products has defined who I am and what I do.
